More milestones - 11 months - can you believe it?

Last week was - oh wait, let me identify myself - it's Christie. Since there are pictures to post, I'm doing it under his name.

So, last week brought some milestones. On Friday night, Willa started to get up on all fours and rocking around. I wasn't sure she'd crawl, but now I think it's imminent. And then all hell breaks loose...so I better get those outlet covers plugged in! On Saturday, Willa transitioned to one nap per day in preparation for day care (which, sadly, is only three weeks away). She was a real sport, staying awake and being pleasant from 6:30 to noon. She's such a good girl.

One or more teeth is/are on the way; she's drooling again and is chewing on her fingers incessantly. I love watching her gum her finger and listening to the sloshy, slobbery sound it makes. Speaking of sounds, I think she's starting to pick up her mommy's ability to OT (overtalk, as daddy calls it). While she doesn't say any recognizable words, she has expanded from "Boo" to "Meh" and sometimes we hear an occasional "Ba". And then there are the sounds - raspberries, shrieks of delight, and what we call the little girl voice - it's soft and sweet and pleasant-sounding.

Willa's first pair of shoes arrived a week ago, so we've been doing some outside walking now. She has to hold on to our hands, but she loves just being able to go! With the shoes on, her movements are very deliberate, almost like a soldier's march. Without the shoes, she's progressed from step-step slowly to a powerwalk. And she giggles the whole way. Oh, the other thing she started doing is scrunching her nose and making loud nose noises (kind of like fire breathing for you readers who do yoga). We caught some video of it, so maybe Markus can post some later this week.

Willa and I will make our last three-day sojourn to Boyertown so that Didi can watch Willa while I work; this is our last because day care starts on May 1. I can't believe it's here already; I said to Markus tonight that the house is going to be very quiet. What will I do? Log in to the day care's nanny cam, I guess. I can't wait to watch our baby girl develop even more as she interacts with other children, though; I know it's a good thing for her, but I'll surely miss her.

Here are some pictures I took last week:

And here are pictures from our fun Saturday (lots of random ones in here):

We asked for outlet covers to be installed prior to closing on the house.
